The importance of athleticism in team sports is often overlooked. It’s worth remembering that every potentially great player is first and foremost an athlete, with natural ability. Using proper, proven training methods these abilities – like speed, sharpness, strength and stamina - can be enhanced and perfected. Team training gives every single player an extra level of fitness that really adds up. So on match day, it’s like having the “extra” man.
David fully understands the dynamics of competitive team sports, and the expectations of players, management and supporters at club, county and international levels. Since retiring from the track, David has focussed on team sports, GAA and soccer in particular. His method promotes the basics of athletics - speed, speed endurance, strength and conditioning - and applies them so they enhance the ball skills and natural abilities of players.
